The via686 code in the linuxbios tree is correct, at least for serial
enables.  Except that it hard codes the pci address of the via686
southbridge.  There are a lot of hardcodes in that code.

Further the because you have booted there must be a working path from
your cpu to your northbridge.  From your northbridge to your
southbridge.  From your soutbridge to your ISA bus where your BIOS
sits.

Therefore unless something is really whacy the problem is the
hardcoded pci address of the southbridge chip.
