Hi!

I am an experienced software engineer specializing in the development of
diagnostic software and firmware for hardware testing. See
http:/www.samkirk.com.

I am looking forward to getting LinuxBIOS up and running in my lab to use
it as a platform for running diagnostics on the mainboard in whose flash
memory the LinuxBIOS resides. I see that the people of linuxnetworx.com
have already realized this:
 http://www.linuxnetworx.com/news/022001_linuxbios.html

I am having a rather difficult time finding vendors who sell the mainboards
that you recommend. The only two I've been able to find for sale are the
Intel L440GX+ (for $450.00) and Matsonic MS7308E (for $70.00).

The Intel board is available on two or three websites. If weren't for your
HOWTO for SiS 630 based mainboards which mentions aaronix.com, I would have
never found the MS7308E.

These two boards are just enough to get me going. But I would really like
some more choices.

Some of the mainboards are discontinued by their mfg: Winfast 6300.
Others, I just can't find: Procomp BST1B, the VIA boards [Procomp was
misspelled as 'Procomm,' confusing my web searches].

I am very leery trying just any board that happens to have a particular
chip-set: 430TX, SiS 730, STPC SOC's. Being a beginner at this, I need to
know exactly which board by which mfg was used. I'll be willing try
hardware variations later on...

If you could put in hyperlinks to webpages where the mfg describes the
board and links to pages where they are sold, that would be very helpful.

I really wish there was one mainboard mfg who offered to put the LinuxBIOS
on their mainboard and ship and support it.

Thank you.
