OK, I've confirmed via the regular bios that if I take a registered 256MB PC100 ECC SDRAM, the BIOS configures it as a one-side, not two-side, registered sdram. In one specific case it is confusing the linuxbios code into acting as though it is two-side, and I am trying to figure that out now. But, all I can conclude is that SDRAM is confusing. ron
