Here is something I think we need to write. It is a utility that will probe the MSR space and find hidden MSRs. This would save lots of trouble on K7s and also would help a lot on P4, obviously.
I suspect there is a hidden register (surprise!) on the P4 that Intel will never tell us about. Just guessing. ron
