I see a violation of Netiquette / good practice (of four lines);

   RFC1505;
       the PGP signature is then followed by a 4 line "ordinary" signature
       section.

  RFC1855;
        If you include a signature keep it short. Rule of thumb is no longer
        than 4 lines.

  RFC1983;
        signature: The three or four line message at the bottom of a piece
        of email or a Usenet article which identifies the sender. Large
        sinatures (over five lines) are generally frowned upon. See also:
        Electronic Mail, Usenet.

But enough is enough ... the other out-of-list message is not worth
responding to .. I empathise and agree with the linuxbios member
you refer to, who thinks your .sig story is a croc (may the farce be
with you).

However, I note with glee that this mailling list doesn't munge "from"
addresses so we might alter our policy, and go filter on that ..
