Decent it is a development kernel, and if I really want my code to go mainstream, that is what I need to work against. My patches should apply to 2.4.x (with maybe a little help) as the code I am touching hasn't really changed in a long time. A 2.4.x backport is reasonable once I get my code accepted. Eric
