Ok, I know what it is. Linuxconf 1.12 is not compatible with redhat 5.0
when you install the updated initscripts package. This update is in fact
the redhat 5.1 initscripts package. this package is linuxconf-aware, but
linuxconf 1.12 on redhat 5.0 does not expect a linuxconf aware initscripts
package. I know the solution and this should be fixed in 1.12r7 (r6 is out
today)
