RedHat 5.1 Linuxconf 1.13r4 Diald 0.16 I installed the dialout module and configured a demand dial connection. The program which causes the PPP connection to come up always locks up or times out. Once the connection is up everything works fine. Also the diald install nor the Linuxconf setup created a /etc/diald.conf file and diald complains about this on boot, but the system works fine other than the problem mentioned above. Has anyone seen this problem before? Does anyone use Linuxconf to config demand dial connections? Also would I like to create a demand dial system which has its own domain name and mail server and will download its mail from an upstream mail server whenever a connection is made (or on a timed interval). I know I could use fetchmail or such, but I would prefer for the remote site to manage its own email accounts using linuxconf. Does anyone here have pointers to information that will help me accomplish this.
