Good to know that I am not the only one having this problem.

Good luck getting an answer, but, since I have at this point asked
several times, and my queries in relevant newsgroups have gone without
answer as well.

After fiddling with it for a while, I was, just as yourself, convinced
that I was screwing something up, but at this point I think it is more
than anything else a problem with linuxconf - mostly because this kind of
setup used to work just fine without linuxconf installed.

* manually establishing a PPP connection, and setting the
firewall/forwarding rules - works fine for all clients.

* install linuxconf, even with manual ppp establishment (NOT
demand-dial), and the very same configuration no longer works.

The client workstation is getting DNS information from the server (since
it is not 'looking for..' but rather 'contacting...' the remote server,
but absolutely NO traffic reaches the client.

At this point, as functional and practical as linuxconf is for most other
issues/configurations, the ability to use a functional gateway/router
surpasses the need for easy configuration - and considering that help for
this issue seems to be sparse, if non-existent, it only intensifies the
problem - at least for me.

If you *DO* find a solution for this, PLEASE let me know, as I would
prefer using linuxconf again.

Harry
