Jacques,

It seems the vpop3d is much slower (linuxconf 13r5) than the normal pop
server.

A lot of time-outs occur on slow links using the vpop3d server, whereas I
almost never get these time-outs using the normal pop server (just by moving
the mail spool file from /var/spool/vmail/domain/username to
/var/spool/mail/username almost everytime gets around the time-out).

Is there anything that can be done about this?

Linux is just like a wigwam:
no Windows, no Gates and an Apache inside.
