OK, I'm really confused now! I thought diald was required by linuxconf
when using the dialout module for demand dial. When I installed the
dialout module and set up a demand dial connection linuxconf started up
the diald daemon and created the sl0 interface, etc. If Linuxconf is not
using diald for the demand dial setup what is it using? Native pppd
demand support? I also noticed Linuxconf created some diald config file
(in /var/run i believe, I'm not currently on that system to check)
Native pppd demand support would cause a real limitation because
as I understand it you have to have a dedicated IP address.
