mgetty is pretty good as far as I know. Probably the best.

There is the mgettyconf module available from
ftp.solucorp.qc.ca/pub/linuxconf/modules that handles mgetty. Check it
out. It will even update your /etc/inittab for you.

Yes there is one called pppdialin. Combined with mgettyconf, you should be
able to configure a ppp dialin system without touching the shell :-)

For the pop question, you may want to check the managerpm module
(ftp.solucorp.qc.ca/pub/linuxconf/modules). It has a search ability that
will let you find all redhat package related to POP. With it, one can find
that the package is called imap.
