This error is misleading. It is produced by the firewall module which is
not compatible with kernel 2.2. Disable this module and the error will go
away.

I am working on kernel 2.2.1 to make linuxconf compatible. There is a
problem with routing (in some case), ip aliasing and firewalling.

Yes, the firewall won't work at all.
