True, I've seen this before, but guess I haven't added a folder as big as yours for it to hang for more than a few seconds. This needs to be investigated.
** Summary changed: - linuxdcpp is extremely slow when committing the Settings dialog immediately after application install + Adding shared folder causes slowdown when closing preferences dialog ** Tags added: freeze hashing preferences ** Changed in: linuxdcpp Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linuxdcpp Importance: Low => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of LinuxDC++ Contributors, which is subscribed to LinuxDC++. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934876 Title: Adding shared folder causes slowdown when closing preferences dialog Status in Linux DC++: Confirmed Bug description: I compiled and installed linuxdcpp from 1.1.0 source tarball, launched it, it shown Settings dialog. I added large shared folders and have set up all. Committed the Settings dialog with OK/Apply button, and linuxdcpp was hanging during several hours. I had to kill the app so that I could reboot to another OS instance according to my necessities. Expected rational results: linuxdcpp must be quick at Settings commit operation. It may schedule hashing/shared folders indexing to be done in background. OS: ScientificLinux 6 (RHEL6-based).
