DC++ itself never deletes any folder.
The (current) DC++ uninstaller can delete the DC++ program folder and its
subfolders but it asks your permission before doing so. This means you can
uninstall DC++ the way the program folder and its subfolders remain intact. The
only possible scenario I can imagine is that you had your downloads under the
DC++ program folder and you chose completly remove that during uninstall of the
old version.
Btw. DC++ does not need to be uninstalled before upgrade, on the contrary, you
can install the new version over the old one and it will even keep your
existing settings.
If you find the deleted folder using an undelete software scanning for deleted
folders, you may still able to salvage the majority of your data...
Maybe the shown question in the uninstaller asking for permission to
remove the whole program folder could be changed to be more clear...

DC++ deleted my dowloads folder during the upgrade

I'm not even sure if it's a bug though...
While I upgraded to 0.770 on my Windows XP SP3, DC++ deleted the whole 60gb of
the downloads folder, without asking me anything ;_;
Also I uninstalled a previous version so it might had something to do with it.
Could this behavior be somewhat managed? Like asking if you wish to delete your
downloads folder during the uninstalling or upgrading process?
