poy proposed the following answer:
haven't tested, but try to add the following global function:
function _(str)
if adchpp.Text_validateUtf8(str) then
return str
end
return adchpp.Text_acpToUtf8(str)
end
then wrap your translated strings around it, eg _("you must be an op").
eventually this could be used to automate translations from .po files,
but that has not been implemented yet.
