while virtual list views would still be preferable, this has been
mitigated for now in rev 2963 by ignoring list selection change messages
and updating the status bar once every half second instead.

Bug description:
Selecting 1000+ of users (or select all with Ctrl-A) in a hub's
userlist takes extremly long (30+ seconds) and the gui freezes until
its done. Seems the bug introduced in 0.689...
