I'm running Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon and i'm experiencing the same issue.
I'm currently using the xml file to add shares.

Wrong directory added as share

Bug description:
- Add the directory /user/foo to the list of shares in the
Preferences/Sharing dialog
- /user gets added instead
(/user is my $HOME)
