Not necessarily, e.g. when a user in a hub has something shared accompanied
with an invalid .sfv file this will generate an alert and prevent those files
from downloading.
So I guess this was deemed still useful even after file hashing is added and
became mandatory but surely this code is added to DC++ back in the pre-TTH era.

SFV checker could not be disabled
Status in DC++:

Bug description:
Unticking `Settings → Advanced → Enable automatic SFV checking` does
not disable SFV checking in dcpp/HashManager.cpp or
dcpp/SFVReader.cpp. In case of CRC32 difference, file won't be added
to share even with this option disabled.
