I have been watching the Linux crowd, all technology experts, and all very, very intelligent and dedicated people. I passed on to them my thoughts and my sincere hopes that they could get their event launched, worldwide. I also warned them of the enormous difficulties. While it brings me ZERO satisfaction that they have postponed their event, it does cause me to write our GLDers to ask them to "lend a hand" where possible in the 21 days left before we lift anchor out of the South Pacific. I would hope that such efforts could be, each day, a few private emails to friends of yours, pointing them to our site. Some of you may wish to do more, so if you can, please let me know. This year I have been watching every nook and cranny very, very closely - especially content -- and I feel comfortable we will have a safe journey 9 and 10 October Nothing will ever replace the excitement of GLDI...but that was a row boat where a few brave souls did something historic. This year, we are loaded for bear with some great, great speakers. Don't believe it...Listen to Joyce Graff's message at http://38.214.205.100/gld3/297.html If you listen to Joyce, you will see there why she will be on the stage when we lift the anchors. You will also get have a better understanding of how a very few, very dedicated people can favorably impact a whole lot of lives. In Joyce's case, her issue was nothing less than life and death.
