Everyone's been thanking the Linux Demo Day team for getting this
thing going, and in return, I'd like to thank all the LUGs that
participated and everyone on this list that has given suggestions
on how to make this thing run more smoothly. This project wouldn't
be possible without your support! I'd also like to thank all
the sponsors that helped in anyway, from sending fliers to LUGs
to helping the LDD team get to LWCE in August.
To the LUGs that didn't receive any materials because they couldn't
get their address information into the database on time, my sincere
apologies. This was totally my snafu because I didn't think ahead
when I originally designed the website. We'll make sure to get
everyone's address next time around.
As most of you are probably aware, we plan to do this again sometime
next year(within 9 months). In the next 2-3 weeks, I plan to read
through the mailing list archive to catch up all the ideas that
have been discussed to make the event next year run smoother and
be more effective. In addition, I will be talking to some other
projects that are working on Linux advocacy to see if they have
any feedback or are interested in working with us. From all this,
I will put together a rough outline of next years plans and what
needs to be done to pull it off. Rough is very much the idea, as the
main purpose will be to have a starting point from which we
can work towards the final plans for next year. I will also be
busy at work for the next few weeks, so you probably won't here from
me until I've got that outline ready to go.
