Configuration of Linux based network...

Hello,
Can any one please tell me if it is possible to have a Linux based system 
which would act like the windows based thin client ????

Is it possible to have a network with all processing power at the Server and 
the terminals just acting as display units ??? In a Proxy server kind of 
environment.

What would be the Minimum System Requirements for the same???
