Hi,
Got some of my problems solved but as i get to know the system more,
i feel more ignorant. Came up with a new set of problems. Hope this
time it attract attention of all, so that i get different ways of
approaching the problem.
Some problems im stuck in,
1) Still not able to optimise my connection. How can i change the
MTU setting at the time im connected to net, if not at the time im
doing FTP/Telnet in LAN.
2) Installed postgres and created db and users but where can i find
the library file (something like "lib-fe.h") which is there in slack
ware too.
Some new problems,
1) How can i set POP3 server. I want to assign POP3 accounts in my LAN,
and want that user can send and receive mails through the linux server.
Till now i have created new users under POP3. By this im able to send
mails to them and they can collect it by setting their POP3 server as
IP of my machine in their mail clients. But they r not able to send the
mails as it cannot connect to the linux machine at time of sending the
message. Is there some setting required to start SMTP server on linux.
What can be the problem ?
2) How can i set my machine as DNS server for the LAN, any pointers
would be helpful.
3) How can i associate html files with netscape ? Currently it opens
only htm files.
4) Can a common authentication module be developed, so that all the
users on the LAN r authenticated by one machine say Linux or NT.
5) Also in remote connection thru modem, the user is not authenticated
second time in the same session, login denied message is shown. What
could be the reason ?

has any good soul on this list has sent complaint to linux-india for
not reponding to my 20-25 subscribtion request ??
