normally all the previous config files are stored with an .rpmsave
extension during an upgrade
Search ... u might get lucky with those old files.

Subject: KDE/GNOME
hi all,
so, i got this nice set of rh 6.0 cds. (i had rh 5.2 with windowmaker and
kde running smooooothly). when i decided to upgrade, i accidently clicked
to
install gnome. that's fine i said to myself, i'll make windowmaker my
window
manager, and my beloved kde apps would work fine right? WRONG.
window maker started up fine, but all my kde paths got lost, and worse
still
the bitmapped buttons now look as if they were designed by a programmer in
one night!!!
is there any way i can restore some semblence of normalcy here? i don't
want
to start a *war* by commenting on which is better kde or gnome, but there
are some really cool apps out there for kde, one of them being kdevelop - a
*visual c++* of sorts for kde, qt, and c/c++ development.
tia,
sid
