Check the interfaces option in /etc/smb.conf for specifying multiple
interfaces on the same system
There are 2 of them .. 1) specify the n/w , host addresses of those
systems/networks that will be able to see your system on the n/w .. SMB does
an announce to those hosts/networks only and others will not be able to
access (Speaking of a proactive security admin ) 2) Option to specify
multiple ethernet interfaces on the same system.. For wins you will have to
enable the wins support of the nmbd daemon (smb.conf) also wins proxy can
be switched on .. However in our setup we already have an NT server running
as a wins
I pointed the Linux machine to the NT server and disabled the wins component
of nmbd
The smb.conf file has enough comments for understanding this
For a wins configuration ... Any howto 's around ... ??
