Hi all,
I upgraded to RedHat 6.0 using the Chip Aug 99 CD.
To be frank, this Chip CD is horrible. In win95 it starts
some startup program which I vent been able to run on
both my m/c at home (P100, 64MB) and even in
office (HP Vectra VE, P2, 64MB)
Anyway, RH6.0 upgrade was smooth (no errors)
But it seems to ve broken following things :
1. "gpm" is broken. I ve Logitech serial mouse at home.
When I run "gpm" without X, it works. With X, it
doesnt. I tried -R option etc ..
On HP Vectra , its HP PS/2 mouse. gpm doesnt work.
In "mev", it shows events but also has errors in
syslog (/var/log/messages)
2. Samba is kinda broke. Actually it was working
peacefully on 5.2. Then we updated win 95. (Y2K update ?!!!)
and it stopped working.
So I guess its a win95 problem.
Error on win95 : "Password is incorrect. Try again"
Error in /var/log/samba/log.smb :
[1999/08/05 09:31:01, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(219)
file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1014 are
available.
3. We ve Netware server. Im using ncp to access.
The ipx_interface is up. But when I try to see all availiable
servers using "slist" it gives : slist: No server found in ncp_open
But, if I try to see print Qs on a specific server I get correct
result.
So "slist" is not working. It might be a problem of our network
config ...
Above might not be problems of RH6.0, but in case u ve better idea
about the problem, please respond.
