Hi Raj,
Do u have an NT bootdisk ? I hope you do otherwise i cant see anyway to
boot NT.
This will work if your linux root partition in NOT an extended partition on
your HDD.
Assuming that u have a way to boot NT here is what u can do -
1. Create a Linux bootdisk (or u can use the original bootdisk). So now u
have a way to boot to Linux too.
2. Now boot to NT with the bootdisk. Do a fdisk/mbr or equivalent for NT.
So now your NT bootloader is in charge !!
3. Boot to linux. Use linuxconf or edit /etc/lilo.conf to put LILO in linux
root partition. Also define an entry for NT
4. Now using fdisk on linux, make the linux root partition as the active
partition.
5. Run lilo
Reboot !!!
ciao,
Amit

Subject: Red Hat 6.1 (PCQ)
Yesterday I upgraded my Linux system from RH 6.0 to RH 6.1 using the PCQ
CD of this month. Suprisingly, it does not allow me select where I want
to install LILO and installed it to the MBR. Now i can't boot into
Windows NT as the NT Loader is deleted from the MBR. How do I remove
LILO from the MBR and set to the Root Sector AND put the NT Loader back
?? Earlier I used to have NT loader in my MBR and had LILO in the root
sector of
the Linux partition. I had set an option of "Linux" which pointed to the
root sector of Linux, in the boot.ini file which NT uses to dual boot.
Please tell me whether i will have to re-install NT to put NT loader
into MBR, or can it be done by some program
Please help !!!!
Raj Parekh.
