I have the same card, but it isn't fully supported yet. My display
flickers like crazy in 24-bit (whenever there's motion), and still
behaves like I'm having voltage spikes when in 16-bit colour. And this
is with forcing XFree86 into treating it like a S3 Virge/GX (ChipId
0x8a10). Using the raw card doesn't work at all (display updates take
ages).
Quake2 gives me 19 fps at 640x480x256c under Windows. At 1280x1024x256c
with a 640x480 window under X, I get only 13 fps. Running the same in
16-bit colour under X gives me 10 fps.
I've just downloaded XFree86 3.9.17 (beta for 4.0). I hope performance
improves with this release. I first need to figure out how to compile
the beast though.
