Well, just throwing in some graphics does not necessarily make a site
better. I personally favour the idea of text only web sites. What I
think *is* important is that we make the web pages W3C compliant. That
would at least set an example to others that we care about standards and
are all for keeping the web open and accessible.

Posting minutes of the meetings is a good idea. Also, if there is a
history of all the messages that have ever been sent to the list, it might
be a good idea to build a faq. That way we wont have new comers asking
the same questions over and over. We could just mail them a copy of the
faq when they subscribe, and let them start out from there.
I am willing to help out in the design of the web page as well as some CGI
scripts that may be required. After sufficient practice I seem to be able
to churn out compliant pages without any effort :)
