I do not know all the options you have tried out, so if you've already
tried this, then sorry.
open XF86Config
Scroll down to section Screen. There should be many of these sections.
Wherever you see a virtual, comment out that line by placing a # at the
beginning of the line.
Save the file.
Try running X.
