Hi all,
Here's a unique problem that I am facing. My telnet daemon suddenly
stops responding i.e., and it the error "Connection to Host lost" is
flashed at the client end. for any new connections.
Initially I used to simply restart inetd. But off late even restarting
the server dosen't seem work. The typical scenerio at the server is:
# telnet localhost
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost
Escape character is '^['.
Connection closed by foriegn host.

The other Inet services are working fine. ie., I am able to telnet on to
port 25 (sendmail) , port 21(ftp).
Telnet is using port 23 and the daemon is not disabled in the
inetd.conf. I using Mandrake 6.1 distro and kernel 2.2.13-7mdk
Any suggestions...
