Hey homi,
C was originally written for UNIX, so just pick up any good c book (not
turbo c or borland c or microsoft c) and go from there. Kernighan-Ritchie
is probably the best, then there's Kernighan-Pike "Practice of
Programming" which is good regardless of which language you intend to end
up with.
