I've never had a problem with param.  Are you using the default object or
are you creating a separate CGI object and using the param of that?  I've
actually had no problem with either.

Can you post the part of your script that's causing the problem?  Also try
running it from the command line.  Execute the script and pass the
parameters on the command line.  Then see if you still get a segmentation
fault.
