Here's my version of the press release. Just changed the person and a few
minor rewordings.
Sameer.
Bombay Linux Users Group <www.ilug-bom.org.in>
- press release.
Linux is the new buzzword. Everybody wants a piece of it and
all want to jump on the bandwagon. But how do you as an
enthusiast sift through the hype ?
^^^^
Simple... Join the local Linux Users' Group (LUG). Our beloved
Mumbai has its own LUG too - ILUG-Bom
It is a group of people who have worked with linux in one way
or another, end-users to gurus, who are all part of the Linux
community of Bombay. These are the people who have witnessed
first hand the beauty, elegance and sheer power of Linux. Through
their own adventures, they have come to appreciate the fact that
Linux is not just another Operating System, it is the Operating
System - and that is not because it comes free.
The mission is to spread the usage of Linux in Bombay.
Why is Linux good for you.Linux is all about opportunity.
Opportunity to experience how powerful an Operating System can
be. From a User friendly Interface to Absolute computing power ,
from a high-end server to a basic desktop system, from a full
fledged multi-processor operating system to a single processor
based system - Linux can answer your questions.
The best way to learn more about Linux is to work with it. If
you need help... there are many user groups and mailing lists to
help you out. ILUG-Bom has its own mailing list which you can
join and interact with other linux users.
Few of the more prominent links to help you out:
www.linux.org { the most obvious site }
www.kernel.org { for all ye engineering students wishing to get
to the heart of the Linux OS }
www.ilug-bom.org.in { The LUG's very own website* - under development
- if this is not functional please head on to www.ilug-bom.org
for now*}
*--> This can be avoided, if according to one suggestion, we can
setup the .in site to temporarily redirect to the current site.
"We are The Linux Users Group of Bombay. Though we prefer to call
it a community."
