More likely the monitor, I have the same card with 1M of ram, but no flicker,
even when moving windows around. The only noticable flicker is when I run those
ten xeyes simulatneously and jerk my mouse around.
Try using a generic monitor with a lower bit depth (or just lower the bitdepth)
