Chrisil,

This problem occurs because you are not telling your pppd daemon the nameserver of the ISP.
Edit /etc/resolv.conf

Add a line
nameserver 202.54.1.30

It will work just fine.

Well Deepak, till today I have been having the same problem. But today I was
able to connect. All I did was increase the pppd timeout in the kppp
configuration.
But I am still having problems. This time I think there is some problem with
"named". I followed the instructions to connect to the internet at the PCQ
site: http://www.pcquest.com/mar99/online.asp
but I am not able to view webpages by typing the URL. However I am able to
connect to sites by giving the IP address in Netscape. Any help regarding
this is most welcome.
Chrisil.
