This is not a problem untarring, but a problem setting the perms for the
file.  DOS/Windows has no concept of file ownership (like you didn't
already know that) so obviously can't handle `advanced features' like
uids.

Use Winzip to open your tarred files and extract them to any directory.
Ignore errors.
