Probably, the rpm installation removed the original library files and
before it could replace/add its own components completely, it found
something amiss and gave up.
If you have another system, compare the files (by sizes) in /usr/lib

Oh .. I realise you are not able to boot. Try a rescue disk.
If the original files haven't been removed but backed up (try ls'ing in
/usr/lib), then restore by comparing.
