Have U tried out another distro before ... in the similar config. as Ur
existing comp?

Well since U do not have any data... U can simply reformat the ext2
back to fat16 / 32.

Since it is not hanging at a particular package.. but instead at a
point in the installation process....it could be a space prob.
U said 3 partitions:
/Swap , / & /boot ?
check the space of "/" ... mount point... this will have the biggest space
allocated. ... the 1600 mb will have to be free on this... . ( unless u have
more partitions... /root, /home..... etc. )...
I trust U get the point.
I say this b/c I have exp. this prob... before . formating the partition seems
to help in many cases.

the only reason that may work..... is that redhat is around ~ 600 -
750 mb ... somewhere there. .. less space..
Try this before:
Do not go for "complete" install.... use the other options... Kde
workstation ... etc...
Ive got a 1.8 partition on which Ive installed the suse 6.3 eval. ( I went for
custom )... Ive still got ~ 475 mb free.
If Ur still having probs... mail Ur partitions... Most probably that would be
the prob....
are U using the 6.3 eval ? .... I think I read somewhere that this CD.. should
be installed on a single HDD.. not split across Hdd's. Can't find out where at
the time of writing this.
can Anyone shed more light on this ?
