wonder which would be safer. Cable TV has tens of (almost) parallel 
connections with cable length of 25 to fifty meters. Each TV would 
have a surge arrestor - the small neon lamp in the antenna lead. Otoh 
the triband modem will have a proper gas discharge lightining 
suppressor - but only one per  circuit with much longer cable.
