Linus didn't name the kernel. He wanted to name it Freenix, the person
sponsoring his hosting put it in a directory named linux (For
Linus' Unix).

But honestly, we aren't throwing mud at GNU. We are merely refusing to
say GNU/Linux because it makes no sense to us.
