By the way kenneth, why was python made a choice over any other

due to its open nature, or is it really fast and efficient than
technologies like java when it comes to such heavy duty applications?
an open source application where the target is non it persons needs
to be in a scripting language so the audience has some chance of
playing around with the code. I first did it in perl - the perl
version, with one user, has been in production for about 4 years now.
I found python more convenient for multi programmer environment. Java
is too bloated - and not enduser friendly.
Incidently java programmers are defecting in droves to python and
ruby ...
I develop in python for its high productivity, but never did a project
of this size in it so just want to make sure from you and any
experienced people. I have seen one project called gnosis at Dr.
Nagarjuna's lab on which even I am going to work. it was also in
python, but may be as of now it has not grown to the extent of calling
it a heavy duty application. may be I am wrong but that's the way I
his application is in zope - as you may have seen, my demo app at
http://avsap.org.in is in zope/plone, but again, too much bloat.
