Hey Thanks, Dinesh for the reply, but the problem was not with the DNS configuration. Luckily, I got the sloution. The stupidity that I was doing was that I was creating two devices in system-config-network (eth0 and ppp0) and also, the NetworkManager service was set to startup at boot.
