thank you sameer for your guidance, but that doesn't seem to solve my problem the first line in my shell script was "#!/bin/bash" i put the "#tmp.sh" as the first line in my mail, just to give the script a name, to help me explain in a better way how i was executing the script. as for the chroot problem, i am executing chroot as "root" only.
