actually open source does not work this way. Here we look for projects
we are interested in and work for free. The best way is to look around
for projects in your field of expertise and try out one or two. If you
mention your field of interest we can help you by suggesting projects.

the first three points will work - credibility will attach to you when
you get commit rights to some project. Believe me, commit rights is the
passport to your future.
