Hi... I am doing a case study of the following OS
1)Windows XP( or NT 4)
2)Windows 98
3)Mac
4)Sun Solaris
for the follwing topics
1)Structure of the OS
2) Three common features like
i)Process management
ii)Communication management
iii)Protection
3)One exclusive feature in each OS
4)PCB and its components
5)Process structure (different possible states of a process)
6)Threads(compare threads and child processes)
7)Scheduling criteria and policies
8)No. of schedulers and their behaviours
It goes without saying that I need too much of help... I am finding particular difficulty with respect to Win XP, Win 98 and Mac. I would really appreciate some help.... Please please please reply with some good links...Thanks in advance...
