That depends. Will the library be available on every system that wants
to run linuxptp?

I spend a lot of my day job time fixing crazy application dependencies
in embedded Linux systems. It really annoys me, personally, to see
programs binding to every last library, whether they need to or not.

Right now, we only depend on glibc and a recent Linux kernel. I would
like to keep it that way. If you can make the case that your utility
really, truly needs libxyz, then maybe, as long as the main
applications still compile without it.
