PTP synchronizes the PTP clocks, not necessarily the system clocks. With a VM if you are using a virtual network device then only software timestamping will be available, so I think that has to use the system clock as the PTP clock since there is no PHC available. That may not be the case if you give a VM exclusive access to a network controller, in which case the hardware interface can be passed through to the VM, so you may need to clarify your VM configuration to be sure. > Slave > [image: image.png] > Time at slave I am not sure about the messages sent directly to the list, but at least the digest strips images from mail, so any information you want to convey to the list should be in text, not attached images. > How do I fix this? Also, am I doing this properly? Hard to say since you did not describe the configuration of the hypervisor and virtual machines, and did not describe the PTP configuration on either side of the link. In general, just saying that the time is not synchronized is not enough information for anyone to know how to fix the problem. > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Email to public mailing lists should be in plain text, not HTML. Most mailing lists are configured to strip HTML and large attachments, at least for the digest version. Any information you need to convey should be in plain text. If pictures are absolutely necessary (which is generally not the case unless you need to graph data to illustrate what you want to convey) you can link to an image hosting site. -- Chris Caudle _______________________________________________ Linuxptp-users mailing list Linuxptp-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linuxptp-users
