Hello.

Long story short, I need to run linuxptp with hardware timestamping
over a Wireguard VPN network interface. This is due to compliance
reasons, as I'm trying to implement a protocol for time
synchronization for a timestamping (RFC3161) server application. The
standard is defined by the Brazilian government so there's pretty much
no way around it.

The issue is, I'm trying to run this on a server with a NIC that has
hardware timestamping support for PTP, but if I try to run linuxptp
over the virtual interface created by wireguard it doesn't start
because the virtual interface has no PTP timestamping capabilities at
all. Is there any way to run the linuxptp packets through this virtual
interface while using the physical interface's hardware timestamping
capabilities?
