Hello. Long story short, I need to run linuxptp with hardware timestamping over a Wireguard VPN network interface. This is due to compliance reasons, as I'm trying to implement a protocol for time synchronization for a timestamping (RFC3161) server application. The standard is defined by the Brazilian government so there's pretty much no way around it.
The issue is, I'm trying to run this on a server with a NIC that has hardware timestamping support for PTP, but if I try to run linuxptp over the virtual interface created by wireguard it doesn't start because the virtual interface has no PTP timestamping capabilities at all.
