Hi, I use a hp zv5000 with fedora core 4 in 64bits and I configured X to use the synaptics touchpad. Everything works well (even the slider) expect that it generates left-click buttons events everytime. Therefore I cannot write text if I don't disconnect the touchpad every time. Otherwise the mouse pointer jumps everywhere and it is very annoying. I understant that this problem is due to the touchpad itself and this is why there is this small button to disconnect it. But I don't have this problem when I (rarely) use windows.
Is there any solution to solve that. I remember I had this problem a long time ago with a compaq laptop and a patch solved that (it was the time of the 2.2 kernel). But this problem is again here with 2.6.12. Best, David
